The most common question posed to me regarding Spirit Guides is, "Can you tell me my Guide's name?" This seems to be of great importance to you to have a name and physical identity to assign it to.
Please remember, dear brothers and sisters, that we are not physical beings. We as guides are not attached to a physical reality. Please do not confuse us with ghosts or other disembodied entities. Ghosts are still attached to your dimension. Therefore they will gladly give you a name and location so that you may verify their existence by witnessing a gravestone or census record.
Guides on the other hand are not connected to physical in this way. We are in touch with our Higher Selves. We have full knowledge of all of our lives past, present and future. So, when you ask me for a name…which one shall I give to you? I have been male and I have been female. I have lived many times with many names.
Some of us have never taken on a physical form at all and are simply recognized by energetic signature.
We understand the importance that you place on this issue and will provide a name if you require one. But, please understand that from our point of view it is not a thing of great matter. A guide often presents him/herself as an amalgam or blending of lifetimes. Quite often it is a name from here; a personality trait from there. However we feel you will be most comfortable with our presence. We often choose bits from our own personal favorite lifetimes. If we have in previous incarnations spent time with you, then we might choose that identity to present to you as it will be familiar to you on a soul level.
What I wish to impress upon you is that if you are unable to validate your guide through historical record it should not deter you. It doesn't make us any less "real". It doesn't mean your experience with us should be discounted. You did not imagine us we are here.
A Spirit Guide is one the many ways God shows His grace to you. You wouldn't think of crossing a vast desert without a guide therefore you shouldn't think that you are expected to cross the Earth plane, with its various pitfalls, alone.
The most important thing is that you have asked for your guide and they have come forward to greet you; name or no name. Do not lose sight of your goal. That is to discard the bonds of physical reality and connect with your Higher Self.
Blessings,
Walter
